Lady Reader's Bookstuff Blog Tours Presents Majra by J. Simon Blog Tour Stop

“In distant Sa'bahr, divinely inspired lunatics spend their lives inscribing every story ever told upon the backs of giant tortoises. The tortoises spend their lives weeping, for they cannot read the wondrous tales written upon their own backs...” Aris has managed to live a quiet life, even in a stark desert land of glorious tales and beautiful lies, crazed artists and mad hermits. So what if he has a knack for tales? A mere messenger can't change the world. Mighty great works he'll leave to mighty great men. Now the soldiers of Majra have come to   pacify his “savage” people.
Few dare stand against them. Certainly Aris never meant to. Taking work with the inavders was a way to help his family, not gain insights into the alien ways of their singular truth.
Beset by beguiling widows and vengeful plutocrats, firebrand Sheyks and  sword-tongued maidens, the choices Aris faces could save his land—or break it.

5 of 5 Majra

Okay first I have to give a HUGE thank you to Amy Del Rosso because she knows I am a strange bird and I love to read but I don't often veer from the genres I love. So when she asked me to read this book I said oh hell I have to because Amy is never wrong in her books and boy oh boy I am glad I read it because it was one of the craziest adventures I went on. Man I can't even explain how I loved this book.

I started reading and at first I said lord what is this crazy writing but then I started to really get into it and I could not put it down and man oh man what a story this is. Can you imagine having to live in a place where you have to tell lies in order to survive? In this world it is what you must do to stay alive because no one goes against the norm and to love is to be weak but this is what happens when love finds it ways into the heart of one guy and he stands up to the bad guys and protects what is his.

I have to say that this book is a must read. I have never been so enthralled by a world like I was with this one. So go out and give it a try!
J Simon is a small blue bird who has been published in magazines and anthologies ranging from Baen's Universe to Writers of the Future.  This surely indicates a lapse by the Guardians of Taste, and inquiries are being made.   There is also a very small chance that nuclear test fallout has transformed J Simon into a gigantic nuclear starfish poised to attack Tokyo, but these reports have yet to be confirmed.

Twinsie Talk Presents A Book Promo For Waiting for Rain by Susan Mac Nicol

20624556
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance

The village of Stamford, the quintessential chocolate box English scene, seemed an impossible dream for foster kid Toby Prentiss.

Now he’s found a home among the haystacks and village fairs as the General Manager for the Duck and Drake Hotel.

With the fears and demons from his youth hidden away in this bucolic oasis, he’s very protective of who he lets in.

Until he stumbles across shirtless carpenter Rain Engel building the hotel’s new custom-designed bar.

Working in the countryside, Rain prepared to face his biggest fear: sheep.

He didn’t expect to deal with his second biggest fear: commitment.

Toby’s controlled, tough guy façade coupled with his “find happiness where you can” optimism calls to Rain like nothing before.

While Rain may be an exhibitionist, his romantic history forces him to hold his emotions close.

As their relationship develops, secrets from their pasts drive a wedge between them: the ex-boyfriend who tore apart Rain’s trust and Toby's history with the law.

But can the secrets hiding among the quirky villagers bring them together?

With missing sheep, pole dancing at the winter festival, and a crippling drought, everyone is waiting for Rain.

Looking for a new sexy 18+ read.... well look no further because Hard Rock Harlots Series By Kendall Grey is where it is at!

Synopsis:

Free-spirited musician Letty Dillinger adheres to a strict, “no strings attached” policy when it comes to men. After a wild night of unabashed sex in a fancy hotel room, she never expects to see the adventurous stud she dubs “Shades” again. When her all-girl rock trio books a tour at the last minute as the opening act for their archenemies, Letty’s shocked to discover she knows the competition’s new lead singer. Intimately. Shades is no longer a one-night stand. Now he’s the guy she has to one-up on stage every night for the sake of her career.

Sharing close quarters on a bus with her sexy nemesis and his bad-boy buddies puts Letty’s Golden Rule to the test. On this tour, guitar strings aren’t the only things being played. And when heartstrings are pulled too hard, they’re bound to snap sooner or later.

WARNING: STRINGS is not suitable for slut shamers, uptight stone throwers, Holier-Than-Thou prudes, humorless virgins, persons with chronic neck or back pain, pearl-clutching bitties, those who disparage crude humor or vulgarity in their many forms, closed-minded people with sticks up their asses, or anyone under the age of 18. The vile, base language and shocking, unholy sexual acts contained herein are not condoned by anyone with a lick of sense and should certainly not be reproduced without proper training and protection. The potty-mouthed and perpetually horny "heroine" (the term is used loosely) of this book does not resemble a normal, well-adjusted, or remotely believable person in any way, shape, or form. The author acknowledges that the characters in this book are shallow and two-dimensional; the plot is both ridiculous and insipid. She makes no apologies for any of it.

Goodreads:

Excerpt:

“Why the long face?” Bartender Rob tosses a stained white towel over his shoulder and leans across the nicked wood. He rests his meaty elbows in a puddle of liquor leftovers. I eye the spot and manage to keep my tongue in my mouth. No licking the bar. You’re not drunk enough. Yet. I do love me some booze, and I’m living off the coins I found in my couch cushions until payday. With a calloused index finger, I stir my vodka martini—the one birthday present I allowed my broke-ass self to buy.

“The short version? My boyfriend left me for Jesus. I’m stuck in a dead-end waitressing job, clogging people’s arteries at Fat Johnny’s Barbeque Shack, making jack shit. I’m earning even less busting ass at the gig I want to be doing.” The part about my boyfriend is a white lie. He’s really just a guy I was bonking for a while. Technicality. But the rest is one hundred percent truth. “No one gives a mangy monkey boner about art anymore. Nothing but a bunch of zero-talent sellouts in this fucking town.” I meet Rob’s eyes. “Man, I’m twenty-five today, and I have nothing to show for it.” Rob straightens.

“My mama always said, ‘If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.’” I shake my head. “Fuck that. I’d rather starve than sell out.” Yeah, I’m a little rabid about this particular stick-to-your-guns philosophy. Some people find strength in religion. I believe in music, and I defend it with everything I’ve got, even when things don’t go my way. I played the unfortunate role of a human pinball paddled back and forth between my divorced parents for most of my life. In my darkest moments, solace and light came from listening to my mom’s ’70s cassette tapes. For a few years, music was my only friend.

Nobody else understood me. It helped me through the rough patches and gave me motivation to pick up the bass at fourteen. Even though I haven’t made it yet, music is still the one thing that keeps me steady and sane. You don’t fuck with shit that does you right. Especially when it’s all you’ve got. I just wish… If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. “Happy fucking birthday,” Rob says. “Yeah, cheers, asshole.” I raise my glass and swallow the whole drink in three big gulps. Rob snickers and wanders over to a customer waving bills at him from the register. The guy one seat away from me laughs, so I glance at him. He’s hunched over the bar like he’s guarding his drink, with his head turned toward me.

Five o’ clock shadow, pierced eyebrow, dark brown fauxhawk, plugs in his earlobes—not too big, though. He wears a black wool pea coat-looking thing, jeans, and a pair of dark sunglasses. “Something funny, Shades?” I ask. “Your boyfriend leaving you for Jesus.” He has kind of a gruff voice. His face is okay, but it’s hard to tell what he really looks like with those glasses covering his most important features. I like his hands, though. They’re rough like mine. “I knew something was wrong with him when he complained about me asking for anal. What guy doesn’t want anal?” I twirl my empty glass by its long stem.

“He was kind of a dick trickle, so it’s not like I miss him or anything. Though the sex was decent. Better than my current prospects.” Damn, I’m dying for another drink. Maybe just one more. I’m pretty sure I got a couple bucks stuffed in my car’s ashtray for emergencies. I shoot a bird at Rob, who nods. “Definitely something wrong with a guy who doesn’t want to sodomize his woman.” Shades takes a sip from his glass. A wrist tattoo peeks out from his coat sleeve. I can’t tell what it is.

“Nah, I wanted to sodomize him. He wasn’t on board with the plan. That’s when the Holier Than Thou shit started. ‘Jesus doesn’t approve of butt-fucking.’ Jesus this. Jesus that. What the hell, man? Don’t you think Jesus would want you to be happy? How will you ever be happy if you don’t try new things? Christ, it’s just a dildo up the ass. Loosen the fuck up.” Shades chokes on his drink, wipes his mouth with a coat sleeve, and laughs. Gorgeous teeth. A glass slides across the bar from Rob a few feet away. I stop it with my open hand and smile. Rob grins and saunters over.

“I got you this Flaming Armadillo for your birthday, my dear. I hope it fits.” He flicks his lighter and ignites the liquid in the glass. Blue flames dance. I salivate. “Rob, it’s perfect. You shouldn’t have.” “You’re welcome.” I pick up the shot and blow it out. To another year of dream chasing. Maybe this’ll be the one where I finally make it big. “Happy birthday to me.” Gulp.

Down the chute it goes, and I lose five IQ points as the alcohol gets busy with my already precarious brain chemistry. At least somebody’s getting some action. Shades raises his glass and shoots whatever he’s drinking. “Did you make a wish?” I’m not telling my real wish.

That shit won’t come true if you spill it. Instead, I say, “All I want for my birthday is to get fucked unconscious with no strings attached.” Not a lie. “What a coincidence. I’ve got a big dick, a bar tab, and the local cab company’s number on speed dial.” The guy’s eyes bore into me from behind the dark lenses, and I have a momentary lapse in vaginal secretion control. Clean up on aisle twelve, stat! * * * * *

Book 2 in the Hard Rock Harlots Series

WARNING: BEATS is specially formulated for horn dogs, porn oglers, smut peddlers, BDSM junkies, M/M and M/M/F addicts, DP dabblers, and lovers of A2M backdoor sexy times. If you don’t fall into these categories, can’t stomach hot man-on-man action, or if you have no idea what the above acronyms mean, please back away from BEATS now. This isn’t the book you’re looking for. Failure to heed this warning could inadvertently throw unauthorized users into a persistent vegetative state, or at the very least, require administration of a defibrillator to the chest and/or groin area. Nobody wants that.

For months, shy drummer Jinx Hardwick has been silently crushing on her tall, dark, and scary bandmate, Toombs Badcock. Drawn to his frightening ink and scars, she yearns to uncover the shadowy secrets lurking behind his silver eyes, but Jinx is too intimidated to even look at him, let alone talk to him. When she stumbles upon Toombs and their manipulative lead guitarist Rax in a compromising position, Jinx realizes her chances of winning Toombs’s heart aren’t just a long shot—they’re nonexistent. To make matters worse, Jinx’s family needs her at home. She’s about to back away from it all—Toombs, the band, her dreams of fame and fortune—when Rax makes her an offer she can’t refuse: a no-holds-barred night alone with Toombs. There’s one small catch. She has to go through Rax to get it.

Goodreads:

Synopsis:

NOCTURNES contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.

WARNING: NOCTURNES addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.

Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.

And he’s no good. For anyone.

After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they’ve had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.

Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn’t abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.

She’s perfect in every way.

Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future…

My Review

5 of 5 8 Weeks

Okay so as everyone knows I love Bethany Lopez! She is the bomb and I had the privilege to beta read this book and HOLY MOTHER LOVER is this s story that will stay with you for years to come.

Okay so 8 Weeks is such an emotional story that it took me a while to write this review because I was torn between trying to write a spoiler free review but at the same time giving readers a little of what is to come when Bethany releases this story. So this is what I have really it is a question all married couples should ask themselves and that is could you forgive your spouse for the ULTIMATE betrayal?

The answer for me is a resounding HELL NO but life has a crazy way of intervening and setting wrongs to right. This is the story of Shelly and Cal who are high school sweat hearts who marry right out of high school and have a happy life together. That is until Cal goes to Vegas to a bachelors party and wakes up in a room with someone else. Cal is sick to his stomach because he loves his wife and he is not sure what the hell happened in Vegas but he knows this much is true he has to be honest with his wife and tell her the truth about Vegas as soon as he gets home.

He does tell his wife Shelly the truth and she leaves him. Cal is devastated by the reality that he may lose his wife and the life he has built with her. But Cal is determined more than ever to win his wife back and show her that he is the man she loved and he would never do anything to hurt her. He comes up with a proposition and asks his wife to give him 8 weeks to show her how much he loves her and needs her in his life. Will Shelly let him back in after the 8 weeks or is the betrayal to much for her to bare?

Prepare yourself for this read because it is such a roller coaster ride that will have you laughing, crying, and screaming all at once!

But I’ve never stopped loving him.

Don’t miss the stunning conclusion to Tripp and Hadley’s story!
***

Goodreads:

Character Interview with Hadley and Tripp:

1. What was your first impression of one another?

Hadley: Tripp knows exactly what I thought about him (laughs). I thought he was your typical, popular jock. Boy was I wrong.

Tripp: Hadley was the shy girl at school, the one who walked with her head down and kept to herself. I thought she seemed sweet and quiet - I had no idea she was so actually this incredibly vibrant, strong person on the inside.

2. Most romantic gesture:

Hadley: I guess I'm not the romantic one of the two of us. But the most romantic thing Tripp has ever done for me was when he drew my picture. It was amazing to see myself the way he saw me.
Tripp: Hadley is romantic in the little everyday things she does. Like the way she was always remembers my favorite things and gets them for me. Also, how she always builds me up and takes care of me.

3. Most annoying trait.

Hadley: How much time do you have? (laughs). Just kidding. No, honestly I think sometimes Tripp can be a little self-depreciating and that annoys me.

Tripp: I would have to say that sometimes Hadley can be a bit of a control freak.

Hadley: I am not!

Tripp: Oh yes, you are. Even her best friend calls her the most annoying back seat driver in the world.

Hadley: That's just because Paige is an awful driver.

Tripp: (laughs) You got me there.

4. Pet names:

Hadley: I guess we don't really have pet names for each other.

Tripp: We could come up with some.

Hadley: (smiling) I think I'm good.

5. Ideal Valentine’s Day gift.

Hadley: I don't care much about material things. I think I'd like a romantic day with Tripp - just he and I. Doesn't really matter what we do but an entire day just he and I would be heaven.

Tripp: Funny I was thinking the same thing.

Hadley: Then I guess I know what we're doing this year!

Ashley examined her partner and best friend’s face, saw the worry flickering in his steel gray eyes. And her panic deepened. “I am still in love with Tony and I never told him he has a son. I have so many regrets. But, all of that put aside; this operation just doesn’t feel right.” Ashley’s features grew pained, as if the admission caused her physical torture.

Chase silenced Ashley with a sympathetic look. “Stop.” He ordered. It is pointless flinging the past up at each other. You and Anthony just need to clear the air.” His voice suddenly sounded strained. “Seriously, Ashley, what do you want?”

What can you tell us about Cole O’Brien?

BOYSTOWN is the continuing story of several couples living in Chicago's famed Boystown neighborhood. And it was a honor for me to be able to feature my good friend Aaron Savvy on the book's cover.

Aaron and I have been friends for about four years now -- and have worked together in a variety of contexts. He is an outstanding guy -- bright, talented, kind, witty -- and, of course, great looking. When I began writing BOYSTOWN back in June, I wrote one character in particular with him in mind; however, I didn't share that fact with him right away. Instead, I finished the book and then shared it with Aaron to get his thoughts. Not only did he like the book, he said he "connected most" with the character of Cole O'Brien -- the very character that I had written for him! Great minds think alike, I guess.

Cole O’Brien is one of the book’s most interesting, complicated, and sexy characters. A senior graduating early from the University of Notre Dame, Cole flies to Boston to interview at the headquarters of a company that has offices in Chicago, where Cole ultimately wants to live. While in Boston, Cole hooks up with a very attractive man, slightly older than Cole, named Derek Mancini (another of BOYSTOWN’s core characters).

Derek, an attorney who lives in Chicago, is “happily” married to a Joyelle, a nurse at a Chicago hospital. However, Derek is known to secretly “hook up” with guys while traveling on business trips. It is during his business trip to Boston that he meets and sleeps with Cole, who immediately falls for Derek. Something about Cole sticks with Derek as well. They spend the weekend together in Boston and, when rushing out of the hotel room to catch his flight home to Chicago on the day of his wedding anniversary, Derek leaves his wedding ring behind. Cole finds it and keeps it, hoping to one day be with Derek again. After missing his flight and arriving late for his anniversary dinner with Joyelle, Derek explains away the loss of his wedding and distracts his wife with a romantic anniversary evening.

As luck would have it, Cole gets the job in the company’s Chicago office and moves to Chicago with his best friend Jesse Morgan upon graduation. Jesse knows that Cole has fallen for Derek and notices that Cole wears the wedding ring on a chain around his neck. They get an apartment in Boystown and begin their new post-college life. However, a series of events lands Cole in the emergency room of the hospital where Joyelle works. Will she see the ring around Cole’s neck and eventually discover her husband’s secret? And will Cole and Derek end up together as Cole hopes? Keep turning the pages of BOYSTOWN to find out.

I actually wrote the character of Cole for my dear friend Aaron Savvy, who is a model and actor living in Los Angeles. Aaron is featured on the cover of the book as well. Aaron would be a perfect fit for the role of Cole O’Brien, because Aaron is a great performer who would bring to the character the sexiness and intensity essential to making the character believable. And Aaron himself possesses the same brains, charm, wit, and determination that Cole has. It’s no wonder they are such a match — after all, I wrote the character for Aaron.

And Aaron himself possesses the same brains, charm, wit, and determination that Cole has. It's no wonder they are such a match -- after all, I wrote the character for Aaron.

Aaron and I continue to work together to promote BOYSTOWN to studios and producers in the hope of having it brought to life on the screen in the very near future.

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Jake Biondi fell in love with "The Windy City" at an early age. He left the Chicago area for four years to attend the University of Notre Dame and, upon graduation, returned to Chicago. He has been living in Chicago's Boystown neighborhood for over 20 years.

A huge fan of Charles Dickens' novels as well as television shows such asDynasty, Knots Landing, Dallas and Revenge, Jake Biondi has created a serialized saga for contemporary audiences.

Because of BOYSTOWN's huge success online and the serialized nature of Biondi's writing, readers from all over the globe have been able to correspond with Biondi and influence the storylines of the BOYSTOWN saga as Biondi writes it.

Now, the first ten episodes of BOYSTOWN are available in book form.
