My Review

5 of 5 Let It Be Me

First things first this book is A- FREAKING-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say this and I have said this on a few book reviews I have done but with this book I could not help but relive what I went through for years at the hand of a man I loved. I could feel Vi's pain and emotional roller coaster she was on. You want to get out but every time you try you get so scared you say eff it and stay because the pain of the heart is nothing compared to the ouch of a fist a kick of booted feet or the air that leaves you when you are being strangled by the man you love. As I was reading this book I could feel Vi's pain and just remembering what I went through and how I got out I was so proud of Vi for getting to the point where she said enough is enough. What people fail to realize is that when you love someone and they start to abuse you the first thing you feel is shame and then guilt and then nothing. I say nothing because you turn everything off so you won't feel the pain.

Vi has been married to her husband Rob for a while and she loves him. He was not always a total ass like he is now and she often wonders if she did something to change that. But Vi has no idea how to make it stop so she does what any one in that situation can do and that is to work outside the home and stay away from Rob as much as she can. Vi loves her job at a doctors office and she loves her boss so when one day he comes in and announces he is retiring Vi is sad. Then her boss informs the office that his son will be taking over.

When Vi meets her new boss Tucker she is very cautious as she is with all things but soon Tucker God Tucker he gets inside of Vi and he helps her to see that things are not normal and she can be free all she has to do is trust and let go. Easier said than done but Tucker is the perfect man because he stays by Vi's side and is her friend through it all. He is so loving and tentative to her that soon Tuck is breaking down Vi's walls even when he and she both don't realize it.

But Vi has a long way to go and every time she thinks she is able to leave she doesn't. This is a story about a woman who will have to fight scream and claw her way out of her marriage in order to stay alive. When her heart does open and the flood gates are realized Vi realizes she needs something more something different and something and someone true. Will Tucker be that someone??????
