Playing With Her Heart (Caught Up In Us #3) by Lauren Blakely Teasers

Synopsis:

When you’re acting the role of a lifetime, how can you know if love is real—or all just a part of the show?

Twenty-three year old rising theatre star Jill McCormick has built a life out of pretending. Pretending she’s happy, pretending her long-distance crushes add up to something real, pretending she’s not haunted by the dark secret that shattered her world six years ago. Cast in her first Broadway show, she desperately needs to keep her façade intact, but that’s before she comes face to face with her devastating new boss…

Hot-shot director Davis Milo knows the first rule of directing: never fall for your leading lady. Captivated by Jill’s raw talent, he fights his feelings, but watching Jill on-stage with another man is more than his jealous streak can take. Keeping things professional isn’t an option. He wants all of her.

Soon the ingénue and her director are staying late in the empty theatre, their private rehearsals spiraling into new, forbidden territory. Caught up between fiction and reality, Jill struggles to find the truth in all their staged kisses. But how can she be sure that what she feels is real, and not a part of the play? And when two people spend their lives pretending, what happens after the final curtain falls?

The Liberator (Dante Walker #2)
Release Date: August 27, 2013
From Entangled Teen

Summary from Goodreads:

Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

My Review

5 of 5 Liberator

Victoria..... Victoria.... you never cease to amaze me and The Liberator just knocked it out the ball park! I mean I loved Dante and Charlie in The Collector but The Liberator just took off and ran and I chased after it.

Dante has fought his way to being to a better man for himself but mostly for Charlie. He loves her and he would do anything to keep her. He has finally become a Liberator and he is both excited and nervous. I mean after being a bad boy for all those years and doing what ever he pleased whenever he pleased has been a hard pill to swallow but like I said he would do anything for Charlie. Dante knows Charlie is no joke and she will not tolerate any bad boy ways so he is trying to change those ways. His first charge as a liberator is to help the soul of a 17 year old girl Aspen. Aspen is a wild wild child like Dante used to be. After Dante realizes that his charge is wild like he used to be he gets caught up in the world again. It is hard when Aspen is pushing for him to make it happen. But Dante knows if he messes up he will lose Charlie and he will no longer be a Liberator. So Dante has to fight like hell to stay away from the wild life and save Aspen.

Charlie has grown so much stronger and she is finally becoming who she wants to be. She loves Dante and they have a great relationship but she is starting to feel her way around and become more confidant in herself. Charlie showed great love and strength in this book and the more I see of Charlie the more I see she is growing into a woman. I am also glad Victoria did not do the love triangle because that would have killed me. I love seeing Dante fight the pull of doing evil again to be with his angel and light Charlie. Once again this is a must read and I need book three like yesterday!

The Collector (Dante Walker, #1)
Synopsis:

He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.

My Review

5 of 5 Collector

Where to start this review.... OMG Victoria has written a book that brings you to another level of LOVE and I have to say I love me some bad boys but Dante Walker took it to another level! Lord he made you want to jump through the pages and smack the ever living life out of him. He tried your patience but if you held on long enough you got to see a special side of Dante that he did not know he had. This series started out with a bang and will end with a bang.

Dante Walker is a soul collector. He collects the bad souls as he says "bag and tag". It is easy go in get the bad soul and move on. Have a little fun party hardy and do whatever he wants. That is until he is summoned by the big boss to bag and tag a soul Charlie Cooper. Dante being so dam arrogant says okay what could go wrong. He thinks he is just going to swoop in and get Charlie and be done but when he meets Charlie he realizes that he is in deep waters. See Charlie is different. Different from what he is used to and so she takes him off his game and he does not even realize it at first.

Charlie Cooper is just living her life having friends in school with her friends. Then comes Mr hot and smoking Dante and things change for her as well. At first Charlie can't understand why Dante is such a tool towards her but Charlie being Charlie is nice. I on the other hand would have shuttle kicked Dante up his kister if he ever spoke to me like that let alone treat me like that but Charlie God I love her character was so patient and kind and in the end well you will have to read it to see what happens with Dante and Charlie.

This is a Paranormal Must Read! So what you waiting for go out and get it!

Inkslinger Presents Inception By Teal Haviland and Silent Orchids By Morgan Wylie Book Reviews

About INCEPTION:

The world is in danger. Mankind is sinking deeper into darkness it cannot understand.

Demons are easily capturing souls as they lead men and women down dangerous paths from which there is no return, while Javan, one of the Fallen, seeks an ancient book and the power it promises. If he succeeds, humans — and the world as they know it — will be destroyed.

There is someone who is capable of stopping Javan . . .

If she discovers him in time.

Gabrielle is one of the most powerful angels ever created, her job one of the most important. She has come to Earth to learn more about humans and what influences them, and to fight evil she sees growing at an alarming rate. She soon finds herself carelessly distracted with one human in particular, however. Lucas Watkins holds a promise of peace and love for Gabrielle that she never believed she could have again.

As feelings between her and Lucas become more than she can deny, so do the dangers mounting against him. After discovering who Lucas is, and the choice he faces, she realizes Darkness will come for him through demons and fantastical beings he thought only existed in his imaginings — forcing fairytales to become his reality.

Caught between her new mortal ties and ancient immortal responsibilities, Gabrielle must race against what seems to be an ever-quickening clock to learn what she needs to know, protect Lucas, uncover Javan’s plan, and find a way to stop him and all who live in Shadows.

Things become more complex than she ever anticipated, her decisions more critical, and what begins as a quest for information rapidly places her in an even more crucial position within the longest and most important war ever waged.

Join Gabrielle and her allies in a story of love – past and present – fantastical beings, hidden realms, magic, fate, loss, and the fight of good versus evil.

My Review

5 of 5 Inception

Inception man what to say about Inception...... this book is simply AMAZING! I mean holy hell I love books that have the age old war going on heaven vs hell good vs evil because you just never know where the author is going to take it. Teal has crafted a world where the reader feels right at home and can feel what the character is feeling.

The world as we know it is in trouble. It is filled with danger from demons walking to and from looking for its next victim to take down the path of destruction. One of the fallen angels Javan is looking for an ancient book that has the power to destroy all of mankind. Once he finds this book he plans on taking over the world with pure evil and destroying what he considers to be pesty little creatures mankind.

There is one person who can save mankind from mass destruction. Gabrielle sits and waits for her time to return to mankind. When she is tasked with finding Javan and destroying him she takes this very seriously. When she returns to earth she is astounded by how mankind is acting and the choices they are making. She is tasked with learning what influences mankind so she and the other angels can reverse this bad that is going on. But Gabrielle soon gets distracted by a human Lucas. Lucas gets Gabrielle's attention and she wants to protect him at all costs.

But there is something very special about Lucas and when Gabrielle finds out she will be caught between saving Lucas and destroying Javan. This is such an EPIC story that had me on the edge of my seat and I was reading as fast as I could because I needed the end I needed to see what happened to Lucas and mankind. Boy I was not disappointed and I need book two like ASAP!

SILENT ORCHIDS Goodreads:

My Review

5 of 5 Silent Orchids

I have to say that I don't read to many books about faeries but this one knocked it out the ball park for me! I mean the world in which Morgan sets us up in keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. The faerie relm is in trouble and the leaders hear about a new power that can save them from dying but no one is strong enough to go and retrieve the new power. So the leaders wait and decide that Daegan who is their top warrior will be sent on the mission to retrieve this new power. Daegan is very smart and knows there is something else at play here and when he goes on his mission and finds out what the power is everything changes for him. He has to decide whether or not to follow his heart or follow his orders.

Kaeleigh has just turned 18 and she feels like she is missing something in her life. She feels like she has family out there and she is not alone. She decides she needs answers so she is going to go in search of what is out there with her two best friends Finn and Chel. Finn and Chel have secrets and their secrets are about to be revealed to Kaeleigh. Can she accept her new role and fate or will she run away scared?

Together with her best friends she will encounter Daegan and their lives will forever be changed. What will happen? Who is the power? Where does it come from? Will it save Alandria? I will not spoil it for readers but man what unfolds between all these characters is EPIC I mean just EPIC! Sit down and read this book and get lost in the world of faeries where reality hits them harder than they can handle.

Goodreads:

My Review

5 of 5 Weathering the Storm

Waiting For The Storm is such an emotional read that I found myself crying and laughing all at once. It is a story about loss and new love and new found happiness. Even in the midst of the storm there is happiness to be found. I have never lost a parent but I thought I did when 9/11 happened. My father worked right down by the twin towers and when I could not reach him for days I panicked. It felt like the walls were closing in on me and when I was finally able to get a hold of my father I was so happy. So I can't imagine at 17 years old watching my mother die for a year but that is what happens to Charlotte.

Charlotte's mother has died and her sister hates her and her father has checked out. Her father and sister are not handling her mother's death well. Charlotte is holding it all in and she has one more thing she has to do because she promised her mother that she would go back to their summer house on Angel Island and spend the summer there healing. But she is not so sure her family can heal after the death of the matriarch but Charlotte is willing to give it a go.

Once they get to the island Charlotte meets her new neighbor Ezra. Ezra is a great guy that listens to Charlotte and challenges her to do things she would not normally do. He wants her to think outside the box and do things to make her happy again. As they build a friendship something happens between them and their friendship grows into love. But Charlotte is still worrying about her family. She wants her father back and she wants her sister back but what will happen is anyone's guess.

What will Charlotte do? Will her family come back together and will Charlotte get the love she deserves?

My Review

5 of 5 True Love

First I have to say Renee sure knows how to write a love story. She did a great job writing a true realistic love story about two teenagers who are trying to figure out this love thing and where it came from and where it is going. It is also a story about addiction and what pain and loss will do to a person.

Ruby is not your ordinary teen living at home and loving school getting ready to do her senior year and go off to college and have a HEA. NO this is not that story. See Ruby lost her mother when she was young and her father slipped into himself and took up drinking to hide his pain and suffering of losing his wife. So Ruby moves around with her father finally landing in one place where she is getting settled in. She takes a job at a summer camp to get money for school and other things her father does not think about getting. Then her life changes after seeing Brent one day. Suddenly she sees Brent in a different way and Brent sees Ruby as someone special.

Brent is a rich kid but he is down to earth and does not flaunt his stuff nor is he a jackass like most rich boys. He sees Ruby at a party and they start to talk from there. Soon Brent finds he can't be without Ruby that he needs her and wants her in his life. Yes it is the summer but he knows that this is no summer romance for him and when he asks Ruby to be his girl she is scared because she has so much going on at home and she is not sure how he will take it once he finds out about her family life.

But Brent is determined to show Ruby she is worth so much and that no matter what happens he will be there for her. In the end is Brent still with Ruby? Or has he moved on? Does Ruby open up and let him in? This is such a heart gut wrenching story that had me in tears because I remember my first love and he was very special to me.

5 of 5 Darkness

HOLY F^&% WHAT DID I JUST READ...................

OMG Darkness Deserved is a debut for Jessica Spoon and holy shizz I can't think straight enough to write this review. I mean I am totally BLOWN AWAY by story that I cannot string my thoughts together enough to get this review done. Lord this is one F%^&$# up story that needs to be read. I mean you talk about raw open uninhibited writing shizz this is it. I mean this story is so dam intense and dark that I was hoping an praying the main character would get some light.

Harper Reagan has had a rough childhood. Her parents died and she was sent to foster care because she had no other family. While in foster care she was abused by the foster father who was the scum of the earth and I wanted to reach in this book and rip his privates off and feed it to the birds bobit style! After taking all she could take Harper runs away at fifteen and has no idea how she is going to survive so she does the only thing left to do and that is the oldest profession in the book to survive. At first she was scared but she just shut off her emotions and did what she had to do to survive on her own.

But one night she is hurt and someone saves her. Nikko is her knight in shinning armor and brings her to safety. Harper realizes she needs to get out of that profession and she does. She buys a bar and condo and starts a new life. She has great friends and is starting to rebuild her life and feel safe and secure until a gorgeous guy walks into her bar and has eyes for her. Breccan Caldwell lord have mercy is all kinds of gorgeous and make your panties wet dream come true so when he peruses Harper she knows she must stay away from him. She does not want her past being revealed so she will sacrifice her feelings for Breccan and stay away from him. But Breccan is determined to get Harper and he is a man on a mission and when she let's her walls down she is terrified and tells him they have to keep the relationship private. Well as we all know alpha males do not go for that because he wants to be with her openly so they are constantly fighting.

What happens when someone discovers who she is? Will Breccan understand then or will he high tale it out there? I have to give you a heads up because most of my book buddies hate this there is a F^&%*^% HUGE cliff hanger and I am not sure when book two comes out in September so be ware!!!!!!!!!!

Excerpt:

“Dove.”

“Don’t call me that! What does that even mean? I don’t want you here! We’re done! Get-” He cuts me off as he forcefully grabs me and yanks me towards him and shoves his tongue in my mouth. He is squeezing me so tight it’s nearly painful. I refuse to kiss him back. Don’t do it Harper. Don’t! Be strong! He kisses me harder and I refuse to return it.

He reaches down and grabs my legs, then wraps them around his waist. What is with this guy and constantly wrapping me around him? Oh, shit. He’s gonna slam me into the wall again! He quickly drops to his knees and then lowers me forcefully to the floor.

He grinds his hips into me and I feel his erection on my stomach. Oh. My. God. I know I’m not gonna be able to hold out much longer. I start to push him away. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My brain is telling me to, but my body just wants to conform to his. And the son of a bitch knows it.

I’m pushing on his chest as hard as I can until he grabs my wrists and forces them above my head. He’s stretched out above me. And quite honestly, it’s the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. He continues to kiss me and I continue to refuse to reciprocate.

He grinds his hips into me again. His mouth moves from mine and trails down my jaw to my ear where he nibbles on my earlobe. He continues down my neck until he gets to the nook where it reaches my shoulder and he bites down. Hard. God, how does that feel so good? I swear I about come in my pants from it. I can’t stop the moan that escapes my lips.

“There’s my dove.” He whispers into my ear before coming back to my mouth.

Book Description:

I know what you did last summer.

Aubree Walker, the perfect girl most likely to succeed, is sure there’s only one person who knows what she did.

Booker Outlaw, one of the three Outlaw brothers—all identical, all gorgeous, all from the wrong side of the tracks, and all pure bad boys. He was always the unpredictable one, the one who would be brash enough to make it big self-publishing horror novels on the internet. He promised never to tell, but everyone knows you can never trust an Outlaw.

Then a year later, in the middle of the night, she receives a phone call at Tulane. Her aunt, who took her in after her mother’s death, has passed away under suspicious circumstances. Now she has to face that one person who knows all about what she did that summer—sexy Booker.

Returning to Hope Parish to lay her beloved aunt to rest, stirs up all those ugly memories. When Aubree starts getting threats, she can’t help but wonder if what she did last summer was tied to her aunt’s death. Afraid, she turns to the only person who knows the truth and Booker doesn’t hesitate to offer his broad shoulder for her to lean on. But Booker has a secret of his own that could crush their fledgling relationship.

As the hot, sultry summer days move on, she finds that even a perfectly smart girl can lose her heart to a perfectly bad boy. What is she going to do when someone starts asking questions Aubree doesn’t want to answer? She’s knee deep into a terribly dangerous, wholly life changing, who-can-she-really-depend-on perfect mess.
