Jillian Dodd Appreciation Day

“THANK YOU Jillian for all that you do!”

Friends of Jillian Dodd are showing their appreciation!

In appreciation for the hard work and effort indie author Jillian Dodd does behind the scenes for authors, her writing friends are offering YOU the chance to win one of her books! You can choose from one of the Keatyn Chronicles: STALK ME or KISS ME. Or maybe you prefer one of the titles in the That Boy series: THAT BOY or THAT WEDDING. All books are New Adult contemporary romance. Good luck!

Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom’s long-time fan has turned stalker.
An older man is flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating a guy like him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

I've always written scripts for my perfect life.
But no way could I have ever scripted this.
My life is so far from perfect, it’s not even funny.
All because of a stalker.

I’m at a boarding school where I have to lie about who I am.
I can’t see my family.
I’m tutoring a Hottie God that tortures me with his smile.
The most popular girl already hates me.
But there’s this boy.
This hot, sweet, sexy boy.
So I’m going to stop trying to script my life and just live it.
Because who knows how long I have left.

That Boy is a contemporary romance about falling in love with the boys next door.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He’s pretty much irresistible.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me. And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.

The gorgeous engagement ring on my finger mimics my happiness.
I feel so sparkly, glittery, and full of promise, because I absolutely know he's that boy.
The boy I want to marry. My prince. My happily ever after.

But then our pastor starts asking lots of questions.
His parents say I haven’t dealt with my past.
I have horrible wedding disaster dreams.
I can’t find the perfect dress.
I have to manipulate him to get my way.
An old boyfriend asks me to run away with him.
My best friend says I'm going to ruin everything.
And forever starts to sound like a really long time.

Which totally freaks me out and makes me question everything I know.

Should best friends get married?
Will my past affect our relationship?
Are my horrible dreams a warning?
Will I ever find a dress?
Could his sexiness be clouding my judgment?
Am I going to ruin everything?
Or is it just a case of cold feet?

And then I have to decide. Am I willing to give up on true love forever, or am I going to listen to my heart and marry him?

Source Books Presents The Real Mermaids Love The Holidays Blog Tour!‏

Author Hélène Boudreau has provided some of Jade’s favorite snacks from the Real Mermaids series, which have been ‘holiday-ize’ just for you!

· Candy Cane Covered Popcorn—In Real Mermaids Don’t Hold Their Breath, Cori and Jade were totally desperate for a sleepover snack so Cori whipped up a batch of chocolate covered popcorn in the microwave. Try their holiday version, complete with candy cane sprinkles to give it that festive touch!

· Chocolate Mug Cake—In Real Mermaids Don’t Wear Toe Rings, Jade was stuck at her grandma’s cottage without any chocolate in sight. That’s when she found a recipe for a 5-minute Chocolate Mug Cake online. Yes! Cake in FIVE MINUTES. Jade adds raspberries and whipped cream to this version. Holiday dessert, anyone?

· Peanut Butter Cup S’mores—In the upcoming book, Real Mermaids Don’t Need High Heels (Feb 2013), Jade’s cutie friend Luke comes up with a genius campfire treat called Peanut Butter Cup S’mores. Try the cookie version Jade and her friend Rachel come up with, which would be PERFECT around a crackling fireplace (indoors of course!).
Everyone’s favorite mer-girl Jade is back to make a big splash as she enters high school in the hilarious, third installment of the critically-acclaimed Real Mermaids series, Real Mermaids Don’t Need High Heels(February 2013; ISBN: 978-1-4022-6458-0; $6.99 U.S.; Juvenile Fiction; 240 pgs.; Sourcebooks Jabberwocky; Ages 9 and up).

Readers have fallen in love with Jade’s fun and relatable coming-of-age story, in The Real Mermaids Series by Hélène Boudreau. Kirkus praises Hélène Boudreau, saying, “The author keeps suspense high…while tapping straight into young teens’ angst about friends, enemies, and boys.”

In Real Mermaids Don’t Need High Heels, Jade is finally ready for life to return to normal—even if starting ninth grade is like being a goldfish in a shark tank and being asked to the school dance means Jade must get over her fear of awkward dancing.

But just as Jade settles into high school life, there is unrest in the ocean, and the whole mer-world is on the brink of civil war. Can Jade find a plus-sized dress that doesn’t look like a shower curtain, keep her mer-ness a secret, and finally figure out if she and Luke are officially dating? Who knew being a high school freshman is even more awkward than being a plus-sized aqua-phobic mer-girl?
Jade begins her summer confused. Yes, there's that whole "will this be a leg-day or a tail-day" kind of confusion, but Jade's got even bigger problems: it's been three weeks since Mom returned to the ocean with no news of her whereabouts. Plus, it's been twenty-one days since Jade first kissed her mer-boy Luke and now-nothing.

Will Mom find the enchanted tidal pool that will allow her to become human? And why is Luke acting so weird?

The SEAquel to Helene Boudreau's critically acclaimed Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings is as energetic and fresh as a salty sea breeze.
First zit. First crush. First…mermaid’s tail?

If she hadn’t been so clueless, she might have seen it coming. But really, who expects to get into a relaxing bathtub after a stressful day of shopping for tankinis and come out with scales and a tail?

Most. Embarassing. Moment. Ever.

Jade soon discovers she inherited her mermaid tendencies from her mom. But this revelation raises a serious question: if Mom was a mermaid, how did she drown?

Jade is determined to find out. But how does a plus-sized, aqua-phobic, mer-girl go about doing that, exactly? And how will Jade ever be able to explain her secret to her best friend Cori, and her crush, Luke?

This summer is about to get a lot more interesting…
Hélène Boudreau never spotted a real mermaid while growing up on an island surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, but she believes mermaids are just as plausible as giant squids, flying fish, or electric eels. She now writes fiction and nonfiction for kids from her landlocked home in Ontario, Canada. Her first book of this series, Real Mermaids Don’t Wear Toe Rings, was a 2011 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award finalist.

American Ghoul by Walt Morton Book Review

Seventeen-year-old Howard Pickman has some unusual problems: He comes from a family of ghouls with a long history of digging up corpses, and he’s just moved to a new school filled with kids that are scarier than he is. American Ghoul is the story of an exceptionally odd teenager trying to survive the most terrible time anybody has to go through -- senior year at high school.
Walt Morton is a writer, photographer, and artist. AMERICAN GHOUL, his
debut novel, has been called “The Tom Sawyer of horror fiction.” With
this book he is continuing a decade-long exploration into the macabre
via photography, film, painting and writing. Walt has lectured at the
British Film Institute and studied intensively in five martial arts.
AMERICAN GHOUL is his first of a planned sextet of books that reinvent
the supernatural horror genre. Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania,
he now lives in Venice, California with his dog, Juniper.

~ 5 of 5 American Ghoul ~

CALLING ALL YOU ZOMBIE FANS I HAVE FOUND YOUR NEXT READ!

American Ghoul is the COOLEST Zombie I have read. I usually don't read Zombie books but I really enjoyed the cover on this one and this one is very different because it has real everyday issues the main character Howard has to face. So with this in mind I decided to read it and I am so glad I did. It is a fast paced read and when the end comes you will not even realize it. I kept checking my Kindle thinking I missed something but no I did not. I will be reading more books by Walt Morton because he has such a way with writing that grips you and you never see it coming.

In American Ghoul we meet Howard and his family. They have just moved to a new place and Howard is starting a new school. Who the heck wants to start a new school when you are a senior. It is hard enough to start a new school period but add in the craziness of being a Zombie and starting a new school as the new kid and not exactly being the coolest kid on the block you have American Ghoul. Poor Howard goes through some crazy things but at least he has a new best friend Sebastian to help him along the way. At least he has the band and Sebastian to help him through this tough year.

This book is fast paced and full of so much 70's references I loved it! Take a few minutes out of your crazy day and come on a ride that will surly leave you laughing!

~ 5 OF 5 If I Were You ~

***THIS IS AN ADULT BOOK, 18 YEARS OR OLDER. CONTAINS MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG ADULTS***

OH MY FLIPPING GOD!!!!!!!!!! THIS BOOK IS SO MUCH MORE THAN FIFTY SHADES AND BASIC INSTINCT. Man where to begin with this review. I have read a lot of erotica and adult books lately but I have to say That Lisa has added some things to her story that stands out among the rest. I did not feel like I reading about Fifty and I sure as hell did not thing basic instincts because this story really has so many dimensions to it I could not get my head wrapped around it. First the characters are so different from any I have read about. I know a lot of people have said no one can fall in love that fast, well to them I say they may not but other people do and it is reality.

I have done some research into the BDSM world and I have talked to people who are in it and I can see the pull towards it and I can see how people fall in love so fast because it is like a drug and the adrenaline rush you get from it is like no other. To them it is like para gliding or bungee jumping the adrenaline brings you places you have never been before and before you realize it you are hooked and can't remember how it has happened. So now that I have bored you with a little back ground I will get to the real deal and this the story.

Sara is a school teacher that is on summer vacation. She is looking forward to spending some quality time reading and enjoying her summer of tutoring students. One night her neighbor is over watching TV and enjoying Sara's company when her boyfriend calls her to go over to his house. The neighbor leaves and forgets her journal and Sara being curious reads it and is shocked to read what is in it. The next day the neighbor comes back to make sure she has not lost the journal and Sara is embarrassed because she read the journal. That is when her neighbor tells her it is not hers but it belongs to the woman who left her stuff in storage and is selling it. The neighbor is so excited about the paintings and the other journals and Sara tells her she can't sell someones private things. Her neighbor tells her she will make a lot of money by selling this things and has no intention on keeping them.

Sara is so shocked by this but what can she do. Then the neighbor comes and tells her the next morning she is eloping with her boyfriend and she is on her way to Paris and Sara can have the storage unit and sell it or whatever but it is her's to keep. Sara is excited because she really enjoyed the journals. They were dark and dirty and there is something in those journals that call to Sara. She decides from that moment on she will find this Rebecca and return her things to her. Sara's first stop is trying to find out information on Rebecca and when she starts to dig in the storage unit she finds a brochure for the gallery she worked at. Sara is excited because she loves art and majored in it in college. Sara goes home and looks up information about the gallery and decides she will go to a unveiling of a famous painter that she loves for a charity. While there she meets this guy who she is so taken with. Their is something about this guy and he is so knowledgeable about art that they talk and before you know it they are talking about different artists.

As Sara is looking for the Art gallery owner he finds her and they talk about Rebecca which he says she is on an extended vacation but Sara is not buying it. Then the oddest thing happens and Sara ends up selling a painting to a couple looking to buy a piece for their main party room. The owner of gallery is impressed by Sara and asks her if she would like to work for him and she agrees. See Sara has a secret that she is keeping and that is she has always wanted to work in the art industry but it does not pay the bills. So she has stayed away from it and became a teacher instead. She is not happy being a teacher because her passion is in the art world where Mark the gallery owner has offered her a great summer. After agreeing to work for him and start that Monday Mark asks her if Chris Merit who is one of her favorite artists she studied in school proud of her for selling his painting. She has no idea what Mark is talking about and he realizes that Chris never told her who he was. The guy she was talking to the whole time was Chris Merit and she never knew it.

Sara will soon learn that their are lots of lies and secrets shrouded in the disappearance of Rebecca. As she reads the journals and delves deeper into the life Rebecca had she will find out Rebecca was a tortured soul and did things in the name of love. She allowed her heart to rule instead of her mind and her instincts. She should have followed her instincts because some things are better left alone. Will Sara follow the same path as Rebecca or will she carve her own path? Will she be forced to face her own demons? Will Sara's past come back to haunt her? Will she be caught up in a love triangle? Or will she chose Mark or Chris? As Sara will soon find out everyone has a past and the past can be a dangerous thing. Will she succumb to lust? Will she giver herself to a broken damaged man? This is such a must read for this summer I am going to re-read it a thousand times! I love the story line and the ending is OMG! I have no words for the ending except I NEED BOOK TWO RIGHT NOW!!!!!! PRONTO!!!!!!!!

~Interview With Lisa Renee Jones ~

Today we would like to give special thanks and a warm welcoming to Lisa Renee Jones for stopping by and sharing the great news of If I Were You being bought by Simon and Schuster. Man Lisa you must be so excited to have been picked up by Simon and Schuster. I have to say the new cover I absolutely love the red cover!

Lisa how does it feel to go from an indie self pub author to a published author of Simon and Schuster?

I was actually already published with Berkley, HQN, Kensington, Simon and Schuster, and NAL prior to striking out with indie on the side. But I love Simon and Schuster and everyone there. My editor is fabulous and every single person there is so dedicated to my series and to perfection that I couldn't ask for more.

Does being self published differ from being an Indie self pub author?

No that is one in the same.

I love your new cover, when did you decide to change it?

Simon and Schuster made the change when they took over the series.

Who is the cover designer?

The in house artist at Simon and Schuster and I was thrilled that she read the book before designing the cover. That is the kind of dedication I've gotten from the fabulous team over there.

Can you tell us what inspired you to write this series?

My fiancée and I had started buying and selling storage units, and he’d found a journal he began to read. He was immediately enthralled and couldn’t stop reading. The author had drama and even a murder next door. It was then that he began to urge me to write a story about a journal found in a storage unit that was both sexy and mysterious. He loves thrillers and so do I. At first I wasn’t excited but I began jotting down notes and over time the story took root. I think it became more powerful because I took so much time learning the characters.

When will we find out what happened to Rebecca?

Being Me, book 2 will give you a firm conclusion to Rebecca’s story.

I love Mark and Chris. They are such strong characters but there is something lurking beneath the surface can you give us a little background on them?

I’m afraid to do this because there are so many things you will discover in book 2 that answer a lot of questions and I don’t want to ruin the experience. :)

When will book two be out?

Being Me, book 2 will release on June 13th. It is available now for pre-order.

Thank you so much Lisa for stopping by and sharing in your success! Many more will be coming your way because this series is taking off and has a life all it’s own!

IF I WERE YOU
The steamy first installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones, in the bestselling tradition of Fifty Shades of Grey.

When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she’s shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer—until the terrifying final entry.

Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca’s life. Excerpt:
Rounding the corner, I enter the hallway, and Chris is suddenly there in the narrow passage with me, pressing me against the wall, his powerful thighs framing mine.

My hand goes instinctively to his t-shirt-clad chest. I am immediately aware of the intimacy of the touch, of my body’s reaction to the man who has betrayed me. “Don’t shove me against another wall and try to intimidate me, Chris.”

“I’m not trying to intimidate you. I was protecting you, Sara.” His hands move to my waist, scorching me, and my reaction to the sizzling touch is instant. I cover his hands with mine, trying to control what he does next, but it doesn’t help. Now, my hands are on his hands and his hands are on my body.

“Call it what you want,” I ground out, “but you had no right to do what you did.”

“He had to know he couldn’t manipulate your dream. Money, and my many resources at your disposal, does that.”

His words knock my anger and my breath away, and confusion consumes me. His actions and his words conflict at every turn. “Why would you help me? You said I don’t belong in this world.”

“Because I won’t watch him gobble you up and destroy you.”

I remember his words, and understand now that he wanted me out of this gallery, not this profession. “Because he’s a dark, messed up, arrogant asshole who will play with my mind and use me until there is nothing else left of me I recognize.”

“That’s right.”

“And yet you say you’re worse.”

He stiffens and cuts his gaze, seeming to struggle before fixing me in a turbulent stare. “I am, Sara, which is why you should run as far away from me as you can. And I should step back and let you.”

“Then why aren’t you?” I whisper.

His eyes hold mine, and what I see there, the depth of his desire, overwhelms me. He flattens his palm on my belly and I tremble beneath the touch, and he has to feel it too. “Because,” his voice low, seductive, his hand traveling up the center of my body, “I can’t stop thinking about you, and everything I want to do to you, everywhere I want to touch you.”

His hand presses to the swell between my breasts, and my nipples ache with a wish he would touch them. His boldness ignites something sultry and dark inside me, a side of me that defies the good-girl school teacher who is appalled I haven’t stopped this. I want him. I want him here and now, and any way I can have him.

And when his gaze lowers to my mouth and lingers, I know he is thinking about kissing me and I have never wanted to be kissed so badly in my life.

“Do you taste as good as I think you do?” he asks, but he doesn’t wait for my reply.

Suddenly, his fingers have tunneled into my hair and he’s dragging my mouth to his. I am all soft submission, yielding to the moment, to the man. I melt into him, welcome the hardness of his body pressed to mine. And when his tongue presses past my lips, a long, wicked caress, I taste his hunger, his need. There is possessiveness to his kiss, to his hand on my back, molding me closer. I am lost in the ache that has become my need for this man, this stranger I cannot resist. He says he’s protecting me; he says he’s dangerous. I am conflicted, and sure I should be angry with him, but I am completely incapable and unable of processing why.

ATOMR Presents I Choose You By Bethany Lopez Promo

Title: I Choose You (Friends & Lovers, Book 2)
Author: Bethany Lopez
Release date: Dec. 27, 2012
Genre: Contemporary
Age Group: New Adult

Event organized by: AToMR Tours

Book Description:
Up until now, Nicole's life has been mapped out for her. She'd go to college, marry Jake and become the upstanding minister's wife. When she leaves that life to begin again in a small town in Texas, she finally has the freedom to live as she chooses. There, she meets Kent, a guy whose charm and passion make it hard to stick to her morals.

Dodging his father’s fists and protecting his twin sister made Kent into the man he is today. He learned by watching his mother stay by his father’s side that it’s better to keep relationships simple. Then he meets Nicole. Her sweet smile and genuine response to him land like punches to his resolve. After a lifetime of learning to protect his heart, can he finally let down his guard?

Excerpt 2:
They hit the trail hard. Nicole used the time to clear her head and to reflect on what Kent had told her about his childhood.

They’d led very different lives, and Nicole couldn’t imagine the obstacles he’d dealt with growing up, but she was very impressed with the man he was today.

Kent made sure they did some cool down stretches before getting back in the car.

He’d worried briefly that Nicole would look at him differently when he’d told her a little about his upbringing, but he was happy that he had. He wasn’t ready to tell her everything yet, but he was comfortable with what he’d told her.

He drove her back to her apartment and walked her to the door.

“Do you want to come in?” Nicole asked him, her face was flush from exertion and glistened prettily.

Kent felt a strong urge to gather her in his arms and take her to her room, kissing and stroking her gloriously toned body along the way. He imagined carrying her into the shower and lathering her up.

He shook his head, trying in vain to calm his raging hormones. He felt like a teenager again: unbearably horny and unable to find release. Well… At least not the way he wanted to.

“Um, no,” He replied gruffly. “I’d better not. You have to get ready for work and I have some stuff to do at my house. I’ll give you a call later.”

He leaned down and gave her a kiss on the forehead, then turned and jogged down the stairs, leaving her there staring off after him, the confusion she felt apparent on her face.

I've always been a lover of writing, but mostly dabbled in creating poetry while raising my three beautiful children. I am grateful that my husband of fifteen years has supported me—albeit sometimes kicking and screaming—as I pursue this "hobby" of mine. Without his help, writing would be an impossible endeavor.

In late June 2012, I felt an urgent tug of my pen, and I began writing my first novel. Although I thought it might never see the light of day, it gave me the courage to plunge headfirst onto a path I had never considered before.

I love writing while listening to music. Through it, my characters come alive in my head with their incessant chatter. The overwhelming urge to release them and tell their stories takes hold.

My characters tend to find love in the most unexpected times and places. Since I greatly enjoy a book full of angst, it is no wonder that I am drawn to write such an emotionally charged tale.

Elder (Firstborn #3) by Raine Thomas Blog Tour Stop

~ MY REVIEW ~

~ 5 OF 5 ELDER ~

Elder is the conclusion to the First Born Series. I am so sad to see it go because I got to read along with all the characters of a world where good was fighting evil trying to regain and restore the peace of the world they lived in. You got to see characters grow and see them develop along the way. You got to see raw pain and healing and you got to see love bloom and love die only to be restored again. I don't think I have ever seen a series that has ripped my heart out and put it back together all over again. Raine Thomas knows how to write a story that keeps you wanting more and more.

In Elder we continue the story with Clara and Ini-herit. They have to find the last and final piece to stop the Evil Mercesti. Only there is one huge problem with this plan. Clara remembers the love her and Ini-herit shared on earth and he does not. So he is indifferent to her and it breaks her heart. But Clara having grown so much is determined to find the final piece and keep her emotions in check. She loves Ini-herit and she will show him that they belong together but first she has to do her mission and stop the evil that Mercesti.

As Clara and the gang have their final showdown with evil they will all do whatever it takes to restore the world back to where it was filled with love and harmony. When the ancient scroll is activated everyone will be relieved and then they can go back to normal life. But will evil prevail? Will the Mercesti finally win this battle? Will Clara and Ini-herit ever get back what they lost on the human plain? This is such an EPIC conclusion to the series I laughed and I cried because I did not want it to end. I needed it to keep going but I will say this Raine Thomas dang it you are BRILLIANT and I will continue to read everything you put out. I just could not get enough.

Excerpt #1:

She took a deep breath, and dove in. She pushed her feet off the soft sand on the bottom, and reemerged, gasping loudly. “I think the water may be a little too cold!”

“Hmm, I can tell.” Gabriel's eyes trailed down to where the thin garment clung to her skin.

“What?” Alaina gave a quick glance down. “Oh, shit. You know, Gabriel, I really don't think that now is the best time for you to be noticing stuff like this. I mean...Gabriel? Gabriel? Are you even paying attention to me?”

“Don't move,” he hissed. He shook his head. “No. I mean, I want you to move, just...very slowly.” Gabriel's skin had paled; his eyes wide as he stared behind her. “Let me get my sword, and-”

“Sword? What are you talking about? Is that anti-unicorn thing behind me?” she joked.

“Those creatures don't live in the water.”

“What is it?” Alaina asked, her voice trembling.

“It's...” He swallowed. “Okay, you can't panic, but...there's a sea serpent behind you.”

She broke out into a fit of giggles. “A sea serpent? This is a lake. Sea serpents wouldn't live in a lake...would they?” Alaina turned around, and let out a high pitched scream.

Forever My Girl (The Beaumont Series #1) by Heidi McLaughlin Book Review & Giveaway

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

~ MY REVIEW ~

~ 5 OF 5 FOREVER MY GIRL ~

Forever My Girl is one of the BEST books I have read in 2012! I of course have my favorites but this one hands down dammit is THE BEST one I have read! I first saw the cover when they had the cover reveal a few months back. As soon as I saw it I put the widget up on my blog so I could get it as soon as it released. So yesterday was the release day and I bought it and read it in five hours while I was at work. I just could not put it down Lord when I started reading I went from happy to sad to mad to angry and then the ending well.... you have to read it because I will not spoil it for you.

Liam, Jossie, Mason, and Katelyn are best friends and lovers. They have grown up together and have become couples. Jossie and Liam are the all American dream couple. Liam the quarter back and Jossie a cheerleader and Mason plays football and Katelyn is a cheerleader. They plan everything together right down to when they will get married to how many children they are going to have. But as all things high school things don't always pan out and things and circumstances change. For Mason and Katelyn things stayed the same and Mason married Katelyn and they had children and lived that American dream but for Jossie and Liam things went a little different.

For Liam and Jossie things went wrong after they graduated high school. See Liam always did what his father told him to do and when he went to college he knew something was off. His heart was no longer into football like his father wanted. Plus to make matters worse his father forced him to go to a different college than Mason, Jossie, and Katelyn so he was alone and had no friends there. Stressed and frustrated Liam has a meeting with someone he never knew growing up but what she says impacts him in a way he never thought. It is after this meeting that Liam decides he is going to do what he wants and not what his father wants.

But with all change things change and people change and people get hurt. Liam decides he is going to quit college and break up with Jossie and move on with his life and start a career in the music industry. Liam changes his last name and moves to LA and makes a good career out of singing but he can't get his girl Jossie out of his mind. She is still everything to him and he is miserable without her. He writes song after song about her and the love he has for her. He knows he screwed up when he left her at her dorm that night that changed everything for him but he needed a clean break and he is definitely paying the price for it.

Then things change because Mason is killed in a car accident and he goes back home to pay his respects to his best friend and help out Katelyn if she needs it. What he did not expect was to go home and see Jossie and have all those crazy feelings come back. Now Liam's heart is ripped wide open when he gets home and finds out Jossie kept a secret from him and boy oh boy what a secret. What unfolds after Liam comes home for Mason's funeral is where the story lies. This is one story that will tug on your heart and leave you breathless. I could not get enough and I kept talking to the lovely author Heidi on facebook where she had a release party and I have to say that Forever My Girl will be somewhere on my Top ten for 2012.

This is an incredible story about love, loss and finding yourself. What do you do when the love of your life leaves you and rips your heart out? Can you just move on or do you continue to love them? Come along for the greatest ride of a lifetime. Plus who could pass on a bad boy rocker who rides a Ducati! Lord you all know I love me some bad boy rockers who drive motorcycles and especially a ducati!
My grandma once told me that I can do anything I want, so I am.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I now live in picturesque Vermont, with my husband and two daughters. Also renting space in our home is an overhyper Beagle/Jack Russell and two Parakeets.

During the day you'll find me behind a desk talking about Land Use. At night, I'm writing one of the many stories I plan to release or sitting courtside during either daughter's basketball games.

I'm also an active reviewer on The Readiacs - a site I own with my best friend and uber special beta, Yvette.

~ FROM HEIDI MCLAUGHLIN ~

Music is a huge part of who I am. I always have my iPod or iTunes turned on and I’m constantly looking for new music. One of my best friends is a musician, so he’s always introducing me to new music. He’s also my sounding board when I find someone I like.

I have a playlist for everything with some songs making it on multiple lists. My music taste varies. While I’m not a country fan, I do enjoy some of the artists and will buy their music. I do tend to like Top 40 or this “new” alternative.

Painkillers by Eric Heatherly – This is a song that Liam “writes” to Josie, hoping to explain who he was without her in his life. Unfortunately, at this time, there isn’t a video. However, this song is a huge part of Forever My Girl and such that the first 200 people who purchase the book and email their receipt to thebeaumontseries@gmail.com will receive a free download.

It’s Time by Imagine Dragons – The title alone tells the story. It’s time for Liam to return home and face the consequences of his actions.

One and Only by Adele – This is very Josie. She’s moved on, but the ghost of Liam still lingers in her mind.

Home by Michael Buble – Home really captures what life was like for Liam on the road.

Broken by Lifehouse – There is a moment in Forever My Girl where Liam tells Josie what he looked for at each concert. This is how he felt, looking, but never finding her.

Secrets by OneRepublic – Secrets is truly fitting for both Liam and Josie as they come to terms with what’s lingering between them. Both have secrets, yet both are willing to put them aside.

Don’t You Wanna Stay – Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson – a perfect indication of Liam’s struggles where Josie is concerned.
