Bloodlines By Richelle Mead

Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1)

Title: Bloodlines
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Book # 1 of 7
Release Date: August 23, 2011

Source: Bought from Amazon

Blurb: When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

Warning: This book is very addictive! Spellbinding!

My Rating: 5 of 5

My Cover Thoughts: I absolutely love the cover! Sydney is so beautiful with her tattoo and Adrian, well he is just HAWT!

My Thoughts/Review: I absolutely loved this book. I was told that it started out slow and then did not go so well as Vampire Academy. Well to the people that told me that I want to say you are CRAZY because Richelle did an excellent job with Sydney’s story.

Sydney is am alchemist and she was raised not to trust vampires so she is very cautious around them. This is her story where we get to see what the alchemists are thinking and how they work. We also see firsthand that no matter who you are you can still be fooled and you must always watch your back.

Sydney is in charge of keeping Jill safe from rouge Moroi. They are enrolled in a private boarding school where things start to go downhill fast for people. Plus Sydney must face her worst enemy and deal with some baggage she has carried for years. Then she has to deal with selfish, egotistical Adrian. What is a girl to do? Will she solve the mystery at hand or will she and Jill end up in trouble or worse yet dead?

This story started out action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Plus the ending was STELLAR!!!!!!!!!! I will not ruin it for those who have not read it but the last page is my favorite!

Memorable Quotes: Page 412-413 Adrian speaking to Sydney in the apartment:

Adrian says “My God, Sage. Your eyes. How have I never noticed them?” That uncomfortable feeling was spreading over me again. “What about them?” “The color.” He breathed. “When you stand in the light. They’re amazing ...like molten gold. I could paint those...” He reached toward me but then pulled back. “They’re beautiful. You’re beautiful.”

Advice: This is a must read and if you loved Vampire Academy you are going to love this series as well.

All she wants is to have a normal life as a teenager, but when a tragedy occurs that causes the whole town of Garlandton to fall to its knees she realizes that she has a very important decision to make.

Should she embrace the life of a Seer? Only time will tell . . .

Warning: This book is SEERTASTIC!

My Rating: 5 of 5

My Cover Thoughts: OMG I love the cover! It is of a girl kneeling down and looking into her hands. What is it that she sees? What could be wrong? Is she seeing things….

My Thoughts/Review: Clarity is finally in her senior year of high school and she is ready to rumble. She has a plan for her and her boyfriend and that plan is to graduate and get out of town. She wants to be anywhere but where she is because she lives in a Podunk town.

On the first day of school trouble starts to brew and Clarity has to face some hard cold facts about her life, love, and friendships. She has to decide whether or not she is going to stay in this town and help out or is she going to hit the decks running and leave everyone she loves behind and all the troubles.

Clarity has so much to think about, her best friend Sam needs her and most of all her boyfriend Brent needs her. When the troubles begin she has to learn to trust them and Sam. But who is Sam and where did he come from? Is he real or a figment of her imagination? She will soon learn what and who Sam is and she will have to face a reality she does not want to.

So come along and let’s take a ride on the Seer side and enjoy this story and follow Clarity and her friends on the bumpiest ride ever! What do ya say give it a go…

Memorable Quotes: Life had always seemed like a game to me, a never-ending game full of anticipation, hopelessness, extreme happiness, and devastating sadness. You win some, you lose some, and at the end of the day you either feel impressed with yourself, or you feel the utmost humiliation on what you've become.

For as long as I could remember my life had been a roller coaster ride, having the highest ups, the most twisted turns, and heavy stomach-dropping lows. In a way most people could analyze their lives as an enormous free fall containing a big climb of promise, only to end with a great fall of failure.

My life had taken such a wide surreal turn the past couple of months that I was unsure of what category I could place my life in. My world had been wrenched inside-out, put in a blender mixed with a huge pile of wrongness, only to be cruelly thrown back into a world brimming over with normalcy. However, being normal was not easy to come by in an imperfect world. Still, I did not know where I belonged anymore.

Did I still fit in with my friends? With my boyfriend?

Did I still fit in the world full of carefree partying?

Would I be able to go to college, have a career, get married, have kids, and die at an old age? Or. . .

Was I destined to live in the spirit realm, watching as angels and demons battled over unclaimed souls?

Did I belong in the Seer world?

Advice: This is a paranormal must read! I recommend everyone to read it, you will not be disappointed! I know I was not!

Release Date: June 01, 2011

Source: A HUGE THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the Traveling Book Tour: Winter's Shadow Edition at Paranormal Wastelands and Pan Macmillan AU. If not for you guys I would not have been able to read this book. I am so glad you guys have done the travelling book because this book is so WORTH it!

Blurb: Blake Duchamp...

He's all that Winter Adams can think of. Ever since their fateful meeting at Pilgrim's Lament. Ever since he looked at her with those emerald eyes. Ever since he saved her life.

But Blake isn't all that he seems. There is a strangeness about him, something dark and otherworldly. Something dangerous. In his attic is a secret he would kill to defend, but Winter seems to have a special ability to make him forget his duty. And he is her only protection against the gathering darkness.

The only problem is, to protect Winter, Blake must risk exposing her to an even greater danger. Himself.

Warning: This book will leave you breathless!

My Rating: 5 of 5

My Cover Thoughts: This book cover hands down is my favourite of all times. It is of a girl with fire engine red hair hugging on tight to a guy. You can tell she does not want to let him go for fear of losing him. He is hugging her back with as much love and adoration as if this was his last hug. The contrast of colours also draws you in and makes you want to pick the book up to see what is going on.

My Thoughts/Review: this story has captivated everyone I know. This book is only available in Australia and so many of us Americans asked our fellow bloggers in Australia if they were going to have a travelling book for this one and a lot of them are. I was lucky enough to get to read the book and then my best friend from Australia Ange sent me a copy! Yippee!

So now on to the story, Winter has just lost her parents and she is living with her sister. Her grades have plummeted so she needs to do an extra credit project to pass this class. She is given that opportunity to do that buy coming up with some great photos of the old church. She agrees and goes to the church and starts to take pictures when she comes across this guy putting flowers on a grave. She is instantly enthralled with him and has to get to know him. As the story goes on we learn that winter must make decisions that are very hard for her. She will also find out some things are not always what they seem and people are definitely not what they seem.

Winter will have to rely on her senses and instincts to get through this rough patch. What will winter do? What will she believe? Who will she believe? M.J. has spun such a wonderful tale that is both captivating and mesmerizing you will not be disappointed because I know I was not! This is a must for read for all paranormal lovers!

Memorable Quotes: "At least she hadn’t bothered to put any mascara on this morning; otherwise, she would certainly have serious panda eyes and look even more frightful."

Advice: This is a must read! The book is only available in Australia right now but iTunes is selling it for 4.99 for a limited time. Here is the info and link to get your audible copy today! www.itunes.com

My Cover Thoughts: A beautiful white feather just resting there waiting for it to be noticed.

My Thoughts/Review: Okay so let me start out by saying I am in LOVE with this series and I could not put this book down. I have read a lot of books about Angels and Demons but I have NEVER read a story line quite like this.

The story starts out with a beautiful introduction by an SWOON worthy man and continues with the story line of Fallen Angels and Angels that are Guardian Angel’s that are trying to save mankind from Zombies.

Sam is your ordinary girl who is a doctor working in an ER and has a twin sister who she shares everything with and they have another sister who is a kindergarten teacher. This close family has lost their parents so all they have left is each other and will do everything in their power to stay together. Things get a little crazy when a mysterious disease or virus hits their town and everyone is infected. They are hauled of to a military base where they can quarantine and checked on to make sure the virus has not reached them.

Once there Sam realizes that there is more to this virus than anyone is letting on and she wants to know what is going on and how long she will have to be in hiding at the base. She will get her answers and more but is she ready for the truth? Only time can tell.

I do not want to give to much away but I will say this if you want action pack, and fast pace this is the book to read. There is love between people that should not have happened and then there is love that people have that is not reciprocated but that does not stop the person from loving the other. And last but not least there are some AWESOME love scenes that are hot and heavy and a little X-rated for teens under 17.

With all that said what are you waiting for, go out there and get your copy at Amazon.com, I promise you, you will not be disappointed! I know I was not and I can’t wait to read the Second book The Guardian’s Soul!

Memorable Quotes: Page 127-128 Sam talking to her sister Babs

By Barbra's stance I knew it was H.B. "Is he ok?" I was afraid of the answer. "Did he sacrifice himself for me?"

"He finally returned to his body, and by the looks of it, he should be fine. The stab wound-"

"Stab wound!" I screamed, "What stab wound, what happened?"

"Well, you didn't think he just hailed a cab to Hell, did you?

He had to perform a ritual and sacrifice to get there. He's now officially a Guide, but it doesn't look like he gets many perks for being one. He's in his coyote form now trying to heal." I could see the tears form in her blue eyes. "I didn't know if I would see either one of you Sam. And when you came back, at first, he didn't."

"I know, I felt his soul hovering, unsure of where to return to." I walked over to Barbra and pulled her into my arms. My hands caressing her blush colored wings. "He'll be okay Babs, and I feel like I will be too. I just needed you to come here so I could tell you that and that Dricus was not the one who harmed me."

Advice: This book is AMAZING! A must read for everyone who loves angels, demons, and Zombies!

Bloodlines By Richelle Mead

The first book in Richelle Mead's brand-new teen fiction series - set in the same world as Vampire Academy.

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California.

Who out there has read this and wants more? OMG Adrian is still HAWT and snarky and poor Sydney, she just can't catch a break. Then Jill GOD have Mercy what more does she have to see and do? No spoilers I promise but if you have not read it you should go out and get it! Such an awesome read you will not be disappointed :)

Okay so I did some digging and I found on MTV.com
Golden Lily

Richelle Mead Hints At Romance In 'Bloodlines' Sequel 'Golden Lily'

Posted 8/25/11 5:03 pm ET by Sabrina Rojas Weiss in Page Turners

OK, we've given you a couple of days to finish "Bloodlines," the first book in Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy" spin-off series. And if you're like us, that last line made you throw the book across the room, scream and then rush to the internet to find out when book two is coming out. I mean, really. The lady knows how to torture us.

Maybe it's the fact that she has a baby due, literally any minute now, but Richelle gave in to our begging and consented to give us a few tiny hints about what we'll get from "The Golden Lily" when it comes out in June 2012 (aaargh!).

(SPOILER-ish ALERT if you haven't finished "Bloodlines"!)

"I'm still writing it, and in the past we have had major plot lines completely deleted, and so I'm like, I'd hate to tell you something that never shows up," she told us apologetically (OK, sorry she's not really a meany), before giving up the good stuff, fortune-teller-style:

"I can tell you Sydney will get a little romance in her life. It's probably not going to be what readers are expecting-slash-hoping for initially. That's been a lot of fun for me, writing Sydney dating."

Translation: We think this means Syd isn't going to throw out her humans-don't-date-vampires rule just yet to give in to Adrian's soulful stare. So maybe there's a new Alchemist in town? Or football-playing smarty Trey Juarez, who seems to get a kick out of Sydney's awkward speeches? Is she going to lure Micah away from Jill? Hmmm. What else?

"We're going to learn a little bit more about something that was hinted at in 'Bloodlines,' about whether or not there are such things as vampire hunters in the world," Richelle added. "They start to pick up that maybe that's not such the myth that they thought. It's going to be the usual split of an action plot going on along with various romantic entanglements."

That action might be why Dimitri is in town at the end of book one. But his presence there seemed like a teasing reminder of all the hot-and-heavy romance that was missing from Sydney's life, in contrast to Rose's adventures. Richelle knows we're champing at the bit for more of that drama, and she promises that it's coming. Eventually.

"I know a lot of [readers] are geared up for romance, and there's plenty of that, so they can rest easy, especially as the series progresses," she said. "The first one is a little light. I'm going to get some more of those, 'How can you do that?' letters. If they hang in there, there's going to be a lot of drama to come."

All right, we'll be patient. And in the meantime, those of you who are, er, mature enough, I encourage you to pick up Richelle's Georgina Kincaid and Dark Swan series. The conclusion of the Georgina series, "Succubus Revealed," is out next Tuesday.

What are you hoping will happen in "The Golden Lily"? Who do you want to see Sydney date?

Want to read a book that will leave you Breathless... Breathless by Scott Prussing

Breathless

Breathless is a modern fantasy/romance novel in the mode of Twilight and Vampire Diaries, with enough new ideas to excite even the most devoted fans...
Weston College freshman Leesa Nyland has been fascinated by vampires since she was three years old. That's when her mom started acting weird, insisting sunlight hurt her skin because she'd been bitten by a one-fanged vampire.
But fascinated doesn't mean Leesa believes. Any more than she believes in blue fire, people who live for centuries, and kisses that can kill. But when her beloved older brother disappears after warning Leesa not to come looking for him, she is forced to consider all these and more.
She also has to figure out what to do about her mysterious new boyfriend. She knows Rave likes her a lot-so why won't he kiss her? And why is he always talking about vampires?
As Leesa draws closer to finding her brother, she faces some gut-wrenching decisions. Should she risk her mom's life trying to "cure" her? Should she continue seeing Rave, after he reveals his dangerous secret? And most terrifying of all, should she make the ultimate sacrifice-give up her humanity-to save her brother?

Blood Like Poison: Destined for a vampire

Destined for a Vampire (Blood Like Poison, #2)

Title: Blood Like Poison: Destined For a Vampire
Author: M. Leighton
Series: Book # 2 of 3
Release Date: May 30, 2011
Source: Amazon Kindle

Blurb: Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back-back from the dead. But what Ridley didn't know was that her wish would come at a price.

Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn't die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn't know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn't know at all.

As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo's true identity, she discovers that loving him could also

come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is
there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms?

Warning: This book is Angelic!

My Rating:  5 of 5 ANGELS

My Cover Thoughts: I love the cover! It is of a girl with a masquerade mask on. Who is she hiding from? What is she hiding from?

My Thoughts/Review: This book picked up right where the first one left off. Ridley is still reeling from the death of Bo and Savannah being hurt. Devon is missing and Trinity is still wreaking havoc. Ridley is in a state of shock because she has not heard or seen Bo and she fears that he is really dead. Then after a few days mourning him she starts to smell his scent but she thinks she is going crazy because if she could smell him why hasn’t he said anything to her. So she goes to see Lucius to ask him what he thinks and he tells her a crazy story about Bo and what he thinks might have happened to him.

When she leaves Lucius she is more confused and heartbroken. The she screams out to Bo and tells him if he loves her then he will show himself to her or touch her and let her know that everything is okay. Bo hears her cries and comes to her and tells her he loves her but he has to stay away in order to keep her safe. H promises to be near her but he can’t stay with her.
After that gut wrenching visit things start to get weird. Her friends are disappearing and some are being murdered. Then to make matters worse her parents out her on a curfew and tell her she has to babysit for her mother’s co-worker. She soon finds out that someone wants her dead and she is attacked buy the people she trusts and loves.

In the end she will have to choose the right path for her. Will she choose to be human or will she choose to become the one thing that scares her.... a vampire.

I cannot wait till September 05, 2011 for the third and final instalment of this series. You will find out what happened to Devon and savannah, Bo and Ridley, and most important you will see what the secret was and how it affected everyone in the small town of Harker!

Memorable Quotes: Lyrics about guilty pleasure wove a sensual web around us.  My blood heated with thoughts of Bo’s skin on mine, covering me, sliding against me.  The friction of Bo’s body rubbing against mine, moving in time with the music, sang along my nerves and turned my core into a raging inferno.  When I felt his tongue licking at the pulse that beat violently beneath my ear, I had to bite my lip to keep a moan from escaping. “There’s no one like you,” he said, his lips tickling my sensitive skin as he spoke.  “There’s no taste like you,” he sighed, trailing his tongue up to tease the lobe of my ear, drawing it gently into his mouth.  “No feel like you,” he moaned, his hand moving to the base of my spine and pressing my hips into his.  “There’s no one that I need like I need you.” My insides melted.  I wanted to cry with the pleasure of it, the bitter-sweetness of it.  I couldn’t imagine ever wanting someone as much as I wanted Bo.  I didn’t think my heart could take it without exploding.  I would gladly give up years of my life to be with him, if only for a little while.  In the end, I knew it would be worth it. Bo raised his head to look at me, his eyes searing me with a heat so intense, I felt it in my stomach.  Without a word, he tightened his hold on me and lifted until my feet were several inches from the ground and my chest was plastered to his.  Slowly, he turned and walked out of the crush, away from the crowd.  He carried me toward a deserted corner of the gymnasium and into a short, dark hallway that led to a door that emptied out onto the stage in the auditorium right next door. The music still thudded in my chest, obscuring the excited patter of my heart.  Bo walked to the back of the hallway, to its blackest point, and stopped, pushing me up against the wall and holding me there with his body.   And then his mouth was devouring mine. As his tongue tangled mercilessly with mine, I grabbed his shoulders and held on tight.  I felt his hands at my thighs, his fingers working the material of my dress up until I could feel skin on skin.  I wanted Bo so badly it almost hurt.  I wanted more.  I wanted it all and the frustration of it was killing me.

Leighton, M. (2011-05-30). Blood Like Poison: Destined for a Vampire (Book 2, Blood Like Poison Series) (Kindle Locations 2422-2447). Kindle Edition.

Advice: This book is both Angelic and Vampireistic!

Warning: This book is out of this world! I want more!

My Rating:

My Cover Thoughts: I absolutely love the cover. It is of a girl looking out at something. She is not sure what she is seeing but she is deep in thought.

My Thoughts/Review: Brooke is your normal teenage high school girl. She has a best friend that she shares everything with and is excited it is their Junior year and soon they will be out of school and on to college where they can be free. See Brooke has moved around more times than she can count so she is excited that she has stayed so long where she is and she has a best friend and a secret crush on the hottest senior in school that is now officially single. With her friends encouragement she accepts a date with Jaren. They hit it off so well on there date they decide to see each other again.

All that is glitter is not gold though because Brookes mother is keeping a secret from her that just may kill her. Out on one of their dates Brooke realizes she is being followed by a guy. At first she does not say anything but then while she is at Jarens apartment the man shows up and tells her she must go with him on her own or he will remove her physically. Brooke looks at him like he is stupid and Jaren asks him to leave but the guy storms in and throws Jaren against the wall and goes after Brooke. Brookes adrenaline kicks in and she fights the guy off and kills him. She is shaken and calls her mother and her mother tells her she has to go to her uncle’s house where she will be safe and she has to bring Jaren.

When they get to her uncles house she is told the truth about her and who she really is. Shocked by what she hears she retreats to her room because she is told she is leaving to be protected by someone named Mirko. To make matters worse Jaren can’t handle the secret and becomes hostile towards Brooke and tells her the relationship is done. When she talks to her mother she decides she will leave but she has to take her best friend to. All the plans are set in motion and the three of them start their journey to meet Mirko. When they reach him Brooke is instantly curious about him because he looks like a teen to so how is this teen going to protect her but everything is not what it seems.

Brooke will have to trust Mirko and trust her friends with her life and learn that loving someone and having a crush on them can make a world of difference when you are not sure you are going to survive the day. What is a girl to do? Can she stand up and become the one thing she fears? Will she chose the right love? You’ll just have to read the book to find out!

Memorable Quotes: Page 189 Jaren talking to Brooke: He got up from the bed. “Fine. I’ll be civil with him until Jelena is taken care of, but this is not over for him. I may have been stupid before by not fighting to keep you, but I won’t make that mistake twice. You loved me first, and I intend to keep you.” He walked toward the door. When he opened it, he paused and looked over his shoulder. “I really am glad you’re okay.” Then he turned so that he faced me. “I love you, Brooke.” My jaw dropped, and he stepped outside the door and closed it.

Page 219 Mirko talking to Brooke: “Mirko?” I gasped. Tears filled my eyes and a relieved sob escaped my throat. I didn’t pay any attention to the other man who stepped out of the back of the car and onto the concrete, or the men who moments ago, had prepared to attack me. Mirko sped toward me, jumping up and sliding his hip along the trunk of the car to get to me. He caught me under my arms and lifted me in the air, spinning me in a tight embrace. The ruffles in my gown expanded, encircling us in an amethyst river of silk. He dropped me enough that my feet touched the ground, but he didn’t release me. He pressed his lips to mine, saying everything that words did not: fear, excitement, passion, and power. When he withdrew, his eyes blazed with flecks of copper, and his lips curled. “I love you,” he said and linked his lips to mine again. At that moment, I knew I felt the same way for him.

Advice: This book is a must read. I loved how Angeline weaved a different story of vampires and how they came to be. This story had me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down. When I was done I wanted more, I was not ready to stop reading about Mirko and Jaren and Brooke.

Things start to go bump in the night and Jack must chose between good and evi. He must decide if he can kill as a human or be killed. He also has learned that the one person he trusts and loves the most is the one that will kill him. What a boy to do?

Memorable Quotes: Page 143 Jack and Silver Talking to each other: Jack crossed the room to the book shelf and picked up the volume Jersey had

wanted him to read. It was one of his favorites, one of Lily’s favorites. Jack opened it. Jersey had written a little note on the inside. We all have a destiny, known or unknown. Our choice is to run from it or embrace it. Choose well.

“You really liked him, didn’t you?” Silver’s expression was one of total disbelief.

“After everything he did, you still like him.” How could he explain it to her? “He reminded me of my father. Not in a bad way. My father kept his emotions in check. He gave new meaning to calm, cool, and collected. Then there was the way I felt when talking to Jersey. He had all this wisdom to impart, and he did it eagerly. Having him around was almost like having my father back.” Silver walked over to him and slid into his arms. The side of her face pressed against his chest. She mumbled against his shirt. “I’m sorry you had to lose him. My parents are searching for Jersey via computer and contacts, but they probably won’t be able to find him for a long time. Maybe by the time they do, I’ll be able to suck his soul out, and you won’t have to kill him.” It was a horrible thing to wish for, but Jack found himself doing just that. He wasn’t sure if he had the strength to face Jersey on a battlefield. No matter what awful things Jersey had done, Jack feared he would always love the man. At least the parts that reminded him of the father he’d lost. Would it be better for Jersey to have his soul sucked out or to be touched by the rock? “What do you think happens to the souls you suck out? Are they lost forever?” “No. Didn’t you read that part in the diary?” “I guess I missed it.” “Lovely says they travel on, heaven or hell, wherever they were meant to be.” That didn’t sound so bad. “I’ll be back in a second.” Jack sprinted out to the car and retrieved the diary. Since it was still in his possession, he wanted to read the part about sucking souls out again. Silver had read it enough to know what page the information could be found on. He leaned in through the open window, took the diary out of the glove compartment. As he pulled it through the window, it slipped from his fingers. The diary opened on the ground to a brand new page. Jack hunched over it and read it again and again. He swallowed hard. Disbelief hardened his heart. No way. Someone was messing with him. He grabbed the diary, slapped it shut, but it was too late. The words were burned inside his brain. Beware of Silver, Jack. Betrayal will lead to your death. It had to be a trick. Somehow Jersey had planted the page, forged Lovely’s handwriting. Jack didn’t believe for a second that Silver would betray him. She most certainly would not lead him to his death. The sucking-out-souls passage forgotten, he tossed the diary back through the open window. With slow feet and a sinking spirit, he returned to the secret mansion beneath the house. He didn’t say a word to Silver about the new prophecy.

Advice: This is a must read! Action packed and a little swoon worthy loving in it!

Wake up Wednesday

This week has been so hectic for me. I am getting the kids ready to go back to school and I myself am starting classes on Monday.

I have started reading a series by M. Leighton Called The Blood Like Poison Series and so far it has me hooked! There are going to be three books in the series. The first two are out and the third one is coming out September 05, 2011!

For the Love of a Vampire (Blood Like Poison, #1)

Like most seventeen year olds, Ridley Heller thought she had her future all planned out. What she wanted most in life was to get out of small town Harker. Her only goal was to keep her mouth shut and her grades high so she could win a cheerleading scholarship to Stanford. But that was before she met Bo.

In Ridley's wildest dreams, she could never have planned for someone like Bo, for a love so intense it left her breathless. No human girl could.

A haunting stranger that watched her from afar, Bo stole Ridley's heart from the moment she laid eyes on him. But he has secrets. Bo's a vampire. Both his past and his present are a danger to Ridley, but the biggest threat is not her blood; it's her heart. He's feeding a thirst for revenge that will cost him his life, and it may already be too late.

The more darkness Ridley uncovers, the more she realizes that her life will never be the same-with or without Bo. Can she sacrifice her future and her heart for someone who has a death wish?

Destined for a Vampire (Blood Like Poison, #2)

Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back-back from the dead. But what Ridley didn't know was that her wish would come at a price.

Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn't die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn't know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn't know at all.

As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo's true identity, she discovers that loving him could also come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms?

OMG I can not wait for September 05, 2011! I will be up all night reading reading reading!!!!!!!!!!

I am also finishing up Vampires Rule by K.C. Blake and let me tell you this is another series to go crazy over! Jack is the man :)

Vampires Rule (The Rule #1)

They don't call him Jackpot for nothing.

Jack has always beat the odds... until now. When a werewolf tried to kill him, vampires saved him. When he got tired of life as a vampire, another attack gave him back his mortality. Now Jack just wants to live a normal life, but what's normal about having a hunter for a girlfriend, a brother who wants to stake him to be on the safe side, and a werewolf building an army to rule the world?
The next book is Werewolves Rule and I could not find out much info on it so I decided to e-mail the author and I will keep you posted.

The Trials of Editing
I have editing on the brain right now because I am up to my chin in it with Werewolves Rule. My head has hurt almost non-stop this month because I am staring at the computer screen, reading and editing every day. Sometimes I work late into the night too. Not good for the eyes. Then when I'm not working on my book, I'm doing this blog, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, etc. My eyes and head really need a rest, but I want to get this done. I am in the homestretch now, and I can see the finish line. Very exciting.

I also have a few other people editing it too, but the problem is that we are all so familiar with the book that we miss stuff. After reading through Crushed more than a dozen times, a friend and I were shocked when someone found a mispelled word in one of our favorite scenes. How did we miss that? It was so obvious.

Anyway, that's what I've been doing. Hope everyone out there is doing good. Happy writing!

She also has another book called Crushed: The Witch Game Book 1
Crushed (The Witch-Game #1)

The Noah sisters rule Titan High with their beauty, brains, and magical powers.

Each year they play a secret game: Crushed. The girls pick their targets carefully and blow enchanted dust into the boy’s faces, charming them, but this year Kristen makes a grave mistake. She chooses the wrong boy and almost dies that same day. Coincidence? Maybe.

But something isn’t quite right about Zach Bevian. He doesn’t behave like a boy who’s been Crushed. He goes from hot to cold, from looking at her with contempt to asking her out on a date. She doesn’t know what to think. Does he hate her or is he truly falling for her? Is he trying to kill her, or is he trying to save her?
What do you guys think? I think I am going to get it on Smashwords.com and read it and get back to you guys!

And last but not least my best friend from Australia Ange sent me two books for my birthday!

Winter's Shadow

Blake Duchamp...

Himself.

Saving June

Harper Scott, trying to come to terms with her perfect older sister June's suicide, takes a road trip and finds love with a mysterious boy who had a connection to June-- and may know more about her sister's life and death than he's telling.

WooWee I can not wait to start reading!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Reading :P

My Rating:       5 poisoned hearts

My Cover Thoughts: I love the cover! It is of a guy kissing a girl and you can see the passion on his face as he holds her tight to him. No one can come between them…. Ever….

My Thoughts/Review: OMG I absolutely love vampire stories but this one has a twist to it that leaves you speechless! I started reading this book as a recommendation from an author friend Shelly Crane and I was not disappointed.

Ridley is a senior in high school who justs wants to get a scholarship to Stanford and leave her town and misery behind. As the beginning of her senior year rolls around she is dating the high school quarterback and she is cheer captain. What more could a girl ask for you would say but deep down inside she does not love Drew and she is forced to make a decision that she does not want to make. What fuels her is a new boy at school who she feels a connection with. Every time he looks at her she feels like she could die inside without him.

As she starts to get to know him she needs him more and more and can not stay away from him. The only thing is, is that he is keeping a secret and does not want her to find out. If she finds out he fears she may never want to be with him. What is he to do? He loves her and needs her like air is to lungs. As the story unfolds you will laugh, you will cry and most of all you love Bo and root for him and Ridley!

Will evil keep them apart or will love conquer all???????????

Memorable Quotes: The murmur of death, a dark shadow overcast, Ringing long and eternal as life slips slowly past, It breeds the unthinkable and touts the unknown, It begins at the end, on a whisper, a moan.

Advice: If you love Vampire stories and love a good swoon worthy story this is the book for you! You will not be able to put this book down. Once you start it you will crave the second book and the third, which is coming out on September 05, 2011

Things will change for all of them especially when a little girl is found and everyone's loyalties are tested. A revelation may upset the delicate balance they've all tried so hard to set. New prospects are put into play giving us new romances and drama to explore. There's new love, new rivalries and new transformations in the continuing series of Collide.

Warning: This book is CALIENTE! Hot... Hot... Hot...
My Rating:

My Cover Thoughts: I love the new cover! Congrats Shelly for the new art work. Four hearts representing the four people she loves the most. You’ll have to read the book in order to find out who they are.

My Thoughts/Review: This book picks up where the last one left off. Sherry and Merrick are now a couple. Danny is safe for now but there is so much that has happened. They have had to move around just to survive and some of the people they are with have been hurt or killed. Sherry is getting weary because the Takers have taken over the world and are looking to kill anyone that turns their back on them. Sherry is hidden in a bunker with Merrick and Danny and they are trying to figure out how to fight the Takers.

While in this bunker Sherry has become the mother hen and everyone looks up to her. She has become the go to person and she also keeps everyone together. She and Merrick are nurturers and try and soothe everyone’s fears. In the second part of this trilogy Sherry is in trouble and Merrick has to find a way to save her and keep everyone else safe.

In this second book you get to meet new characters and you even get to see some arguing and some heart break. This story grips you right from the beginning. I promise you, you will fall in love with Merrick and The Lighters who have come to save the world and destroy the Takers and restore Earth back to its natural beauty before the Takers took over.

Memorable Quotes: Page 38 Merrick is talking to Sherry. “Sherry, please. I’m dying here, baby. Gah, I wish I knew where you were! I assume that Cain is with you. I hope he is... Unless he’s the one who... I’d kill him. I have no idea what happened but don’t be scared, honey. If nothing else just hear my voice and know I’m coming for you. We’re heading out right now to come look for you two. I love you. Stay out of danger. I’ll find you. I promise.”

Advice: This is a must read series! Shelly has the next syfy best seller on her hands. Once you start reading you will not be able to put this series down.
